Funds for Feathers is a fundraiser I started on Valentine's Day of 2008 in memory of my beloved cockatiel, Rasta, to support Mickaboo Companion Bird Rescue, a Bay Area volunteer group committed to rescuing, fostering, and rehabilitating companion parrots along with educating bird owners and bird owners to-be about what wonderful pets companion birds can be along with the committment involved in caring for a bird. My hope is to raise awareness for Mickaboo and what they do, show how wonderful yet fragile creatures pet birds can be by sharing my own story, and help to give Mickaboo's birds the chance to find a loving home they deserve by raising money to pay for their much-needed vet bills. Until we raise 1000 dollars, I will be matching all donations dollar-for-dollar.
